Our Story
Hellooooo Indiana!! We're husband and wife team Tom and Rachel. Tom, a California native, and Rachel, an Indiana native, had their first mochi donut while living in California and fell in love with its unique chew and subtle sweetness. We thought it would be a dream to open our own mochi donut shop. Soon after, we moved back to Indiana and found ourselves craving mochi donuts and there were none around. That's when, in 2022, Tom decided to take the leap and bring the first mochi donuts to Indiana. Unsure how Hoosiers might like the donut, we started small in the commercial kitchen of the Noblesville VFW. But immediately, Indiana too fell in love with mochi donuts which allowed Rachel to leave her career as an Audiologist and join Tom full time slinging JOY.
We feel so lucky that the Noblesville VFW took a chance on us and gave us the opportunity to start Mochi Joy right in their kitchen. Because of their generosity, we want to do everything we can to pay it forward to the community. Mochi Joy intends to spread as much JOY as we can and we have to thank our raving fans for helping us do so.
The Craft
We're huge foodies and love to experiment in the kitchen. Of all the mochi donuts we tried, the Hawaiian style bakeries were our favorite leading us to our recipe for Mochi Joy. The ingredients that make up the final products are crucial to Mochi Joy. Each flavor is carefully crafted and tested to make sure our customers get the best mochi donut experience ever. We find inspiration for our flavors not only from Hawaii but from some of our multi-cultural family favorites. We're pulling out all the stops by using the best treats to top the mochi donuts like: macadamia nuts, Oreo cookies, Fruity Pebbles cereal, Heath toffee and more. This extra attention is all worth it to get the most JOY in every bite. Looking forward to hosting you soon!

Where are you located?
Inside the commercial kitchen of the Noblesville VFW at 654 South 9th Street, Noblesville IN 46060.
How do I buy your mochi donuts?
We are open Thursday and Friday from 7:30 am to 2 pm and Sunday from 7:30 am to 12 pm. On Saturdays we are at various pop-up locations. Please check our online menu or social media pages for pop-up locations and closures. You can walk-in and order at the counter any day we are open or pre-order online for pick up and delivery starting at 8:30 am.
What’s the best way to store the mochi donuts?
Our mochi donuts are best eaten fresh. However, if you choose to store them longer, they’re best kept in the box they came from at room temperature for no longer than 2 days. If you pop a mochi donut in the microwave for 5 seconds, they become slightly warm and slightly chewier in the center.
What flavors do you have?
Our flavors change on a daily basis. Check out our menu page to see what flavors will be available for the week.
Are your mochi donuts vegan or gluten-free?
No. Our mochi donut's main ingredients contain wheat, tapioca, rice flour, eggs, and milk powder. We cannot guarantee that our items are free of trace amounts of peanuts, tree nuts, soybeans, sesame seeds, or other allergens. We use a shared kitchen with equipment to prepare, store, and serve our guests. We have a list of allergens for each flavor that you can request at anytime through email or in person.
Will you ever open on weekends?
Beginning September 2022, we are now open on Sunday's from 7:30 am to 12 pm. On Saturdays we are at various pop-up locations. Follow our social media or check our menu to learn about our pop-up locations.
Do you give special pricing for half dozen and dozen boxes?
We don’t at this time. We do offer a rewards program that offers $5 off once you spend $100 (1 point per $1 spent).
Do you ship?
We are not able to ship any of our products due to their fragile nature.
Do you cater?
It depends due to our limited team and commercial kitchen hours. Fill out our Catering contact form to let us know what you need and we will do our best to accommodate.
What is your refund policy?
We do not do cancellations or last minute rescheduling. We are a very small business and when you cancel or reschedule your order last minute, it creates an empty slot for someone else who could’ve ordered. If you suddenly can’t make it for your pickup or delivery unfortunately we will not refund you.
