    • We are a family-owned bakery and coffee shop. We specialize in mochi donuts and offer other delicious treats, savory items, and full coffee & matcha service.  We are independently owned and not affiliated with other mochi donut shops. 

    Our Story

    We're husband and wife team Tom and Rachel. Tom, a California native, and Rachel, an Indiana native, had their first mochi donut while living in California and fell in love with its unique chew and subtle sweetness.  We thought it would be a dream to open our own mochi donut shop. Soon after, we moved back to Indiana and found ourselves craving mochi donuts and there were none around. That's when, in 2022, Tom decided to take the leap and bring the first mochi donuts to Indiana.  Unsure how Hoosiers might like the donut, we started small in the commercial kitchen of the Noblesville VFW.  But immediately, Indiana too fell in love with mochi donuts which allowed Rachel to leave her career as an Audiologist and join Tom full time slinging JOY.  

    After 3 years of operating out of the commercial kitchen and attending pop-ups and events around the city, we were able to open our own brick & mortar in Fishers.  Because of the generosity of the VFW and our raving fans, we want to do everything we can to pay it forward to the community.  

    The Craft

    We're huge foodies and love to experiment in the kitchen. Of all the mochi donuts we tried, the Hawaiian style bakeries were our favorite leading us to our recipe for Mochi Joy.  The ingredients that make up the final products are crucial to Mochi Joy. Each flavor is carefully crafted and tested to make sure our customers get the best mochi donut experience ever. We find inspiration for our flavors not only from Hawaii but from some of our multi-cultural family favorites. We're pulling out all the stops by using the best treats to top the mochi donuts like: macadamia nuts, Oreo cookies, Fruity Pebbles cereal, Heath toffee and more. This extra attention is all worth it to get the most JOY in every bite.  Looking forward to hosting you soon! 

    The Vibe

    At Mochi Joy, we blend a laid-back West Coast vibe with the warmth of Midwest hospitality, offering a unique escape from the everyday. Our space is designed with community at its heart, serving up delicious food and drinks alongside plenty of friendly faces. We’re passionate about supporting local, so we collaborate with local vendors to source our coffee beans, plants, books, and other products you’ll find in our shop. We also love hosting pop-up events with fellow small businesses to bring people together and celebrate what makes our city special. Whether you’re here to catch up with friends and family, meet for work, or just enjoy a solo retreat, we’d love for you to come relax and connect with us at Mochi Joy.
